.BIENVENIDOS.A.PERU!.

here I am...I fell asleep on a bus once we crossed the border...in mounatins and chilly hills...and woke up in a desert! it was pretty extreme...just hours and hours of flat sand! here are some pictures I snapped at the border...it went pretty smoothly, actually... really? okay, I lie...because there were about 20 dutch tourists on my bus...and NONE of them spoke spanish! haha so I pretty much had to help the border crossing guys and translate with my limited spanish skills...it took quite a bit of time, but we made it!the first town I stayed in was Piura....BORING...wow...really...I mean, its Preu, cool...but there was NOTHING to do here...I wandered around for a bit...found something to eat...then I was SO bored by 6 ish...that I went to a movie! Madagascar 2!! it was all in spanish...of course...but I dont know, maybe because I dont see a lot of movies lately...it was SO CUTE! and funny...it was nice to laugh out loud...
The next morning I woke up and bought some yogurt, and snapped this picture while I ate it...its the only picture of the city of the sun...Piura...sorry all...there really wasnt alot to see or take pictures of...

then before I new it I had arrived in Chiclayo! a very cute little city...very bright and colorful...as soon as I got off the bus my new firend named Thomas asked if I knew where to stay here he hadnt been here for about 10 years, so we did a little hunt and ended up at hostal san lucas...very cute hostal! im in a teeny tiny room on the top floor, great views of the city!
view from my balconywe went out to check out the city...it was very festive!!! all the trees in parke central were wrapped up and had presents hanging from them and things, there have been lots of concerts and parades in the 2 days I have been here....its a sweet city... for the first time since my trip, I feel like I can talk to people in this city...people are very nice, and helpfull...like this guy! let me just explain something...the police in Ecuador are SKEEZE...I wouldnt count on one to save my life...scary eh? but this guy was FABULOUS.-...he was talking to these guys from spain, and when we walked by he shouted GRONGO PARTY! ha ha so we stood around for about an hour just chatting and then this guy started .RAPPING. no joke...it was so funny, he was showing us his 8 count beats and rappping about people from spain, Canada and Swiss guys. haha he spoke a little english, but not very good. he was so cool! we have seen him a few times since then.

.we.got.ice.cream!. - so delish here...all the juice and uce cream is fresh and homemade...amazing.

oh, and I have a new friend at my hostal! this is Mocha! she belongs to the people who run the hostal...but okay, shes the cutest puppy ever! she just hangs out on the roof with me when im home, were BFF´s oh, and her new BFF....my travel companion! amiga! dont worry...I saved her

last night we went to eat at a kareoke place for dinner...HILARIOUS! we made really good friends with these girls who just BEGGED us to song hotel california...we did...and it was a hit! haha then us girls danced a little salsa after dinner! thats hot the resturants are here, its great!

today I went to this market where you can buy ANYTHING to fix ANYTHING. no joke...its pretty funny actually...tons of herbs and claws and bones to fix anything from weak nails...to weak pick up lines. haha then a few people and I hopped on a .COLECTIVO. (this van where they cram as MANY people as they can into it and then go to close by cities....its cheaper, and hilarious) and went to a Museum....it was VERY interesting...and perfect for the afternoon...it gets to be high 40 degrees here in the aftrenoons...so a chill museum was perfect...now im just relaxing...I bought a watermelon and have been up eating it on my balcony all evening...ahhhhhhh.....I dont want to go back to normal life...whatever that is!

so...im not dead...heading to the beach town of Trujillo and Haunchancho tomorrow after church...and shes off!!!!
